The village of Yiti, which was destroyed by Gonu over a year ago, lies to the west of an enormous building site, stretching 5km along the coast and 2km inland. Not so much to restore the quaint village but to create a tourism and leisure resort known as the Yenkit project. The website invites us to imagine 'castle Yenkit', luxury hotels and (another?) championship 18-hole golf course for the Yiti locals to enjoy. Good grief.Things to do in Singapore (and occasionally beyond) during and after meals. Incorporating content from www.livinginoman.com

Oman: Yiti
