A fifteen-minute opportunity for a bit of tourism was spent in the calm surroundings of the Jame' Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque (Kiarong Mosque) in Bandar Seri Begawan which is bigger and more sumptuous (and less pungent I recall) than the Omar Ali Saifuddien mosque visited last year. The unsung heroes are the teams of sweat-soaked men from distant lands who snip hedges, sweep up piles of dust gathered at a leisurely pace and polish every surface to keep the mosque so immaculate.Wednesday, 30 November 2011
